Place the candle on a heat-resistant, stable surface away from drafts, open windows, and flammable materials before lighting.
Trim the wick to 5mm prior to every lighting to prevent smoke and ensure an even burn pool.
Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the container during each burn to prevent tunnelling, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
