Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why is the NUK teat shape asymmetrical?
The asymmetrical, orthodontic shape is specifically designed to mimic a mother’s nipple during breastfeeding. It is flat on the underside and curved on top, which allows the tongue enough space for natural sucking movements while fitting optimally against the roof of the mouth.
How often should I replace my baby's NUK soother?
NUK officially recommends replacing silicone soothers every 1 to 2 months for hygiene and safety reasons, or immediately at the very first signs of damage, bite marks, or material weakness.
Can I clean the NUK First Choice soother in the dishwasher?
No. It is not recommended to clean soothers in a dishwasher. The aggressive detergents can damage the silicone material and weaken the structural integrity of the components. Always use a dedicated baby bottle cleanser or the microwave steriliser box.
