Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the difference between an SDHC card and an SDXC card?
SDHC (High Capacity) cards range in storage sizes from 4GB to 32GB and utilise the FAT32 file system format. SDXC (Extended Capacity) cards start at 64GB and scale up, using the exFAT file system. Older electronic devices are often strictly limited to the SDHC standard and cannot read larger SDXC cards.
Is this card fast enough to record high-definition video?
Yes, this card holds a Class 10 speed rating, guaranteeing it will not drop below a write speed of 10 MB/s. This makes it perfectly acceptable for standard 720p and 1080p Full HD video recording on everyday dash cams, home security cameras, or older camcorders. It is not intended for high-bitrate 4K or ultra-high-speed action photography.
Why does my computer show less than 8GB of total space?
This is a standard occurrence across all storage media brands. Flash storage makers calculate capacity based on a decimal system (1 gigabyte = 1 billion bytes), whereas computer operating systems read storage using binary logic. Furthermore, up to 10% of the raw storage space is reserved by the card's firmware for master boot records, wear-leveling management, and formatting data.
